Why we launched the petition
Keep Europe’s Skies Open is an online petition established by Ryanair to prevent Europe’s consumers from having their travel plans and holidays cancelled by tiny groups of Air Traffic Control (ATC) unions going on strike and closing the skies over Europe.
Since 2009, French ATC unions have staged 52 days of strike action, closing the skies over Europe, and causing cancellations for millions of holiday makers across Europe.
This is impacting millions of tourists who have their holidays disrupted.
It is also impacting the tourism of many countries in Europe as tourists don’t travel because of cancelled flights.
Ryanair has repeatedly called on European authorities to take action to prevent more ATC strikes. Please sign this online petition to support this campaign. When Ryanair obtains 1M petition signatures, we intend to present this petition in Brussels to urge the EU Commission and the EU Parliament to finally take action.
